No official word yet on the opening date but the activity has been escalating over the past few weeks at the former "Shopper's Drug Mart" store on Wallace Avenue.

Media inquiries have been directed to Montreal-based firm "National Public Relations". NPR consultant Lyla Radmanovich confirmed by e-mail that the location will employ about 20 people. She indicates consumers in Listowel will be offered a broad assortment of everyday consumer products, general merchandise and seasonal items.

According to the company website, Dollarama is Canada's leading dollar store operator with 667 locations across the country.
